We design gardens both for clean-slate projects and in situations where existing landscaping is present. Our design specialty is in taking existing landscapes and transforming them from boring to exciting by utilizing a palette of colorful, unique, and interesting plants. We consult with our clients to find out how they are going to utilize their spaces, and listen to their ideas regarding the colors and plants they love. We identify the existing elements of the landscape to keep and which to remove, and then enhance what remains with our artistic vision and knowledge of plant culture and combinations. Our ultimate goal is to help you achieve the gardens you really want, not to design what we think you want!

We don't just install gardens, we create them. Each step in the process is vital to the success of the garden, beginning with soil preparation. We use judicious amounts of compost and deeply work and amend the existing soil. The plants we select are top grade and chosen for vigor, disease resistance, and suitability for your microclimate. We plant with care and always consider the spacing and ultimate size of a plant before it goes in the ground. Our gardens continually change and evolve with the seasons, even after we have designed and implemented a garden plan. Our gardens are not just installed, but rather created with care!

Season-long garden maintenance is a cornerstone of what we do. We typically provide our maintenance clients with a complete early-spring through late-fall service. We perform every task required in the garden from the first spring cleanup to putting garden beds to rest in fall. We plant and clean out annual flowers, edge and weed beds, divide and transplant perennials, add compost, and spread mulch. Tall plants are staked, spring flowering bulbs are planted, overgrown plants are cut back, and any plants requiring pruning are done correctly at the optimum time of year. Virtually all of our clients who commission the creation of any gardens also entrust us with their continuing care. We are especially skilled in the artful pruning of specialty shrubs, hedges, parterre, and small trees. We feel that pruning is an essential skill required to maintain gardens at their best. Proper pruning can reveal the hidden beauty of many plants while at the same time promoting good health, encouraging vigor, and improving flowering.

We provide gardens, arrangements, and associated décor for outdoor events such as weddings, parties, and reunions. We also offer outdoor decoration for holidays and the changing seasons.

Finding sources for specific plants and garden objects can be a challenge. We have a vast network of sources from which we commonly obtain materials used in crafting our gardens. If you desire specific plants, pots, accent pieces, or hardscaping items we can assist in obtaining them for you.
